SEATTLE REIGN FC at CHICAGO RED STARS POSTGAME QUOTES
Saturday, March 23, 2024 • SeatGeek Stadium • Bridgeview, IL
Seattle Reign FC Head Coach Laura Harvey
On not being able to start on the front foot:
“I think it was us, totally us. We were reactive and it was windy and conditions weren’t great, but it was the same for both teams. We had the wind in the first half and we just couldn’t deal with them trying to go long on the ball hanging off and we let things bounce when we didn’t need to, but I’m not taking anything away from Chicago. When we wanted to get into the game, we did.”
On Ji’s goal:
“I honestly thought she hit the post and then I saw the ball ripple in the net. So yeah, that’s what she brings, she’s quality.”
Seattle Reign FC Midfielder Ji So-Yun and Defender Lily Woodham
On their thoughts on the match:
Woodham: “I think we dominated most of the game and we had good spells, good possession. I think we all know we can take our chances and I’ll be the first one to hold up my hands and say the second goal was on me, it was at the back post and I should be there, but we’ll reflect on it and go again next week.”
On her goal:
Ji: “Obviously, I’m happy to have scored with the first goal in the NWSL for Reign. We didn’t get points, it was disappointing.”
